Pelican Energy TCI would like to remind customers that the fuel factor rate on electricity bills at the end of June will begin to increase more significantly due to higher global fuel costs. As a result, customers will see higher electricity costs reflected on this month's bill.? Below is an overview of what you can expect:
- Providenciales, North Caicos and Middle Caicos: A 35.6% increase to $0.2118 per kilowatt hour (kWh).
- Grand Turk and Salt Cay: A 30.9% increase to $0.1964 per kWh.
- South Caicos: The fuel factor rate for this island will be available soon. Last month (May), the rate increased by 39.4% to $0.2291 per kWh.?
We know these increases are difficult, and we want to remind you that further rises to the fuel factor rate are also expected in July’s billing cycle. These changes are driven by global market forces and are beyond our control.
We previously communicated these increases and remain committed to providing advance notice so you can plan, understand potential bill impacts, and take steps to manage your energy use. We are here to support you where we can, during this time.
